Monday Night Youth Club - Where Every Evening is an Adventure
Every Monday from 6pm to 8pm, our doors open to welcome young people aged 8-16 for two hours of non-stop fun, friendship, and discovery. As our flagship session, Monday Night Youth Club has been the heart of our community for years, providing a safe, structured environment where children and teenagers can be themselves, try new things, and build lasting friendships.
A World of Activities Under One Roof
Our Monday sessions are designed to cater to every interest and energy level. From the moment members arrive, they can choose from an incredible range of activities spread across our venue. Active youngsters love our sports hall, which hosts everything from football and basketball to badminton and indoor cricket. Meanwhile, our games room buzzes with friendly competition - pool tables, table tennis, board games, and the latest console gaming stations ensure there's always something exciting happening.
For those with creative souls, our dedicated arts and crafts area offers weekly projects ranging from painting and drawing to jewellery making, model building, and seasonal crafts. We regularly bring in guest artists and crafters to teach specialist skills, and members' artwork proudly decorates our walls. Our music corner features keyboards, guitars, and drums for impromptu jam sessions, and we often organize talent shows where members can showcase their abilities.
Structured Fun with Freedom to Choose
What makes Monday nights special is the balance we strike between structure and freedom. We begin each session with a welcome circle where we check in with everyone and outline the evening's special activities or themed events. Then, members have the freedom to move between activity zones, trying different things or settling into their favourites. Our experienced youth workers circulate constantly, facilitating activities, ensuring safety, and engaging with every young person.
Each month features special themed weeks - from outdoor adventure challenges and cooking competitions to STEM workshops and cultural celebration nights. We listen to what our members want and regularly update our programme based on their feedback and suggestions.
Building Confidence and Life Skills
While fun is our priority, we're also committed to helping young people develop crucial life skills. Through our activities, members naturally learn teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and leadership. Older members are encouraged to mentor younger ones, help set up activities, and even lead projects. We celebrate achievements both big and small, recognizing improvements in everything from sports skills to kindness towards others.
Our weekly "Respect and Responsibility" approach means members learn about taking care of equipment, respecting others' space, and contributing to their community. Many of our longest-attending members cite these lessons as formative in their personal development.
A Safe, Inclusive, and Supportive Environment
Safety and inclusion are at the core of everything we do. Our facility is fully equipped with modern safety features, and our staff team includes trained first aiders and safeguarding experts. We maintain excellent ratios of staff to members, ensuring every child receives appropriate attention and supervision.
We celebrate diversity and actively work to ensure every child feels welcome, regardless of background, ability, or circumstances. Our inclusive approach means we can accommodate children with additional needs, and our team works closely with parents to ensure every member can participate fully and safely.
More Than Just a Monday Activity
For many families, Monday nights have become a cherished routine. Parents appreciate the affordable, reliable childcare that also enriches their children's lives. Young people value having a space that's entirely theirs - not school, not home, but somewhere they can relax, play, and be themselves. The friendships formed here often extend beyond our walls, with members meeting up outside club hours and supporting each other through school and life challenges.
We also organize special events throughout the year - day trips during school holidays, residential weekends, celebration parties, and community service projects that give members opportunities to give back and experience new things.
